Zoning Board of Appeals

Why do I serve? Now that I am retired, I have the time to give back to the community that I have been a part of for over 20 years. Serving on the Public Building Committee and as a ZBA alternate is my way of helping to retain the character and charm of Simsbury.

Past or present Boards/Commissions/Volunteer work: Zoning Board of Appeals Alternate,  Meals-on-Wheels, Valley Collector Car Club (VCCC  is a non-profit organization that generates funds to donate to smaller local charities in our community.), New England Automobile Museum – Board of Directors, (Past) Public Building Committee

Employment History: Retired Antique Vehicle Appraiser, Founder of Classic Wheels LLC, CEO Electronic Marketing Inc.

Education: Graduated Bloomfield High School 1965, Enlisted in US Air Force 1966-1970 as an explosive specialist. Self-taught electro-mechanical engineer and internet reverse engineering consultant.

Why I love Simsbury: I always liked living in a “rural” town.  I grew up in Bloomfield and when we moved there, our house was in the middle of a cow pasture. As time went on, development took over the pasture and became suburban housing. I love that Simsbury has been able to retain its small town atmosphere and charm.

Fun Fact: When we moved to Simsbury, one of my neighbors started calling me the “Car Guy” since I was always working on cars. The handle stuck as part of my appraisal business. If you see cars with the license plate “CARGUY” or “CARGUY1”, that’s me!
