Why Do I Serve? My husband and I have lived in Simsbury for over 50 years. It is a very special town with services and opportunities for everyone. Simsbury is the wonderful place it is because of the decades of time and talents that residents have given to make Simsbury the community it is today. I wish to continue to contribute to that legacy of giving back.
Past and Present Boards, Commissions and Volunteer Work: I served as Trustee for The Simsbury Public Library for 12 years from 2009 through 2021 and Chairman of the Library Board of Trustees for 10 years from 2011 through 2021. I am currently a Director of the Friends of the Simsbury Library. I also volunteer for the Friends of the Simsbury Public Library Books to Your Door program, its Hospitality committee and its annual book sale. I am a volunteer in the McLean Hospice Program
Employment History: I spent my career in Information Technology. I started as a programmer at SNET and over the years assumed increased responsibilities in both the technical and managerial areas. At the time of my retirement from SBC/ATT I was the Assistant Vice President for Middleware and the virtual Chief Information Officer for Connecticut.
Education: I graduated from Loomis Chaffee. I received a BA in Mathematics from Newton College of the Sacred Heart (Boston College). I received my MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
What I Love about Simsbury: Simsbury has so many services and resources for all its residents. It has a superlative educational system, beautiful recreational facilities, and a wonderful Library. The Library is really the Community’s gathering place where everyone has access to books, programs, and facilities to encourage lifelong learning.
Fun Fact: I was the first woman in Combustion Engineering’s Engineer in Training Program.
