Jonathan Yeisley

Zoning Board of Appeals

Why I serve?

I believe I have a duty to engage in civic work when these is a need to be met.

Past or present Boards/Commissions/Volunteer work:

I have served on the Insurance Committee, Zoning Board of Appeals, and the Police Commission. I am currently one of the Local Coordinators for the Special Olympics Simsbury as well as the Bowling Coach and Track & Field Coach.  I regularly volunteer with the Theatre Guild of Simsbury. I have volunteered in the past with the Town of Simsbury Aging & Disability Commission as well as Autism Speaks.

Employment History:

I have held various underwriting and managerial positions at publicly traded and mutual commercial insurance companies over the past 31 years.

Education:

Economics at The Pennsylvania State University.

Why I love Simsbury:

I love that Simsbury is a big town that feels like a small town. I love that Simsbury is a small town that provides big town experiences like the Talcott Mountain Music Festival, Simsbury Celebrates, etc., etc.

Fun Fact: The best class that I have ever taken was the Simsbury Police Department’s “Citizens Police Academy” in the spring of 2023.  I firmly believe that every Simsbury resident should take the class at some point in the coming years.
