Board of Assessment Appeals

Current Office: Chair of the SDTC and Member of the Board of Assessment Appeals

Why I serve? As others have stated, “democracy is not a spectator sport.” We all have a role in making our community, our country and our world more equitable, more sustainable and more humane-not only for future generations but for this moment now. As numerous as the challenges we face are, so too are the solutions and the people committed to realizing them.

Past or present Boards/Commisions/Volunteer work: I currently chair the Simsbury Democratic Town Committee, am a member of the Executive Committee of the Connecticut Chapter of the Sierra Club and am a facilitator at MacDougall Walker Correctional Institute for the Alternatives to Violence Program.

Employment History: I have spent my career working for nonprofits, advocacy organizations and elected officials. I am currently the Principal Assistant to Connecticut Attorney General William Tong.

Education: I received both my B.A in Communications and my M.A. in Behavioral Science from California State University at Dominguez Hills. A few years ago, I completed a certificate in Global Affairs at NYU.

Why I love Simsbury: The amazing, abundant natural world that defines our community first drew us here. We have remained because of the wonderful people we have befriended. Also, the impressive restaurant scene-especially for a small town like ours-makes it easy to stay:)

Fun Fact: In 2005, we moved across the country to be closer to family residing throughout Connecticut. Our kids have over 45 first cousins!
