Tolly Gibbs

Library Board of Trustees

Current Office: Library Board of Directors

Why I serve: I have been a member of the Simsbury community for almost 20 years. I care about our town and how Simsbury grows yet maintains the character that people have loved over the past generations and generations to come. The library is a free resource open to all and enhances the richness of lives. I want to continue to serve our town on the Library Board of Trustees. I believe in giving back my time to the community that gives so much to its residents.

Past or Present Boards/commissions/ Volunteer work: I have been an active board member with the Friends of the Simsbury Public Library, providing hospitality, used book sale support, newsletter production, and leadership as a former president. I volunteered on the schools PTO during my children’s enrollment in K-12.

Employment History: Having been an at-home mother for 20 years, I worked part-time tutoring children to develop math skill. For the last three years, I continue to give back as a public servant in a municipal office.

Education: Haverford College, BA Philosophy

Why I love Simsbury: I love that Simsbury feels like a town, with a vibrant center, parks, playgrounds, music center, forests and so much more! There are activities for all ages, and the rich quality of Simsbury makes it home.

Fun Fact: I taught downhill ski lessons for many years.
